Athens, GA. an eclectic community just 70 miles northeast of Atlanta. This bulging urban landscape consists of about 4 square blocks which contain about 34455694667785949857494856749894576849 bars which primarily cater to 18 year olds. i personally like alot of the somewhat old architecture of downtown athens, and noticed that gothic and script fonts were popular in the area. i was stuck up here due to the gas ordeal this past week, so i figured it was the perfect opportunity for me to walk around like a tourist and take retarded pictures.

jason hit the nail right on the head with how to use this typeface. there are PLENTY of great uses for it. unfortunately i did not do any numbers otherwise i would make a "john mccain '08" banner........

work space

so here is the new pad. i still have some stuff to organize, but i got the workspace pretty much in tact.......

in the first picture you can see my turntables (with the customized ENRON slipmats), record collection, my table space, the computer desk i got from stan (thanks again by the way), the new epson 1400 printer, the old piece of crap printer, my camera gear, and my audio stuff (keyboard and roland beat machine)

the second picture is of my stash, part of it at least, i have two more boxes full of scrap cans as well in the back closet. i am a serious pack rat, so you will find all kinds of random objects, chemicals, paint, brushes, wood varnish, etc in my place. anything i feel i could use creatively in any way i just cant help but hold on to it.

as for the third picture, it is what the trunk of my car looks like. i recently repainted the razorfish office and they bought me a bunch of montana paint (it costs 9 bucks a can). unfortunately they are all the same 4 colors, but still, its alot of paint......

as for the 4th picture, that is my kitten. we call her BattleCat (BC for short). she is a MAJOR DISTRACTION. very hyper and loves messing with me when im trying to work/sleep/eat/spin records/everything i do

here is where i am with the mccain portrait. it is basically him with the "war hear portrayal. as far as concept goes just from glancing at it i want it to look like a propaganda poster making him look like a military "hero" but the type inside all the space reads as follows:

on his face/head - "bush 2.0"
on his thumbs up hand - "tax cuts for the rich"
on his outer coat - "i am one of you"
his inner shirt / tie - "i own 8 mansions"
the yellow shape in the background is a sillohuette (however thats spelled) of IRAN with a bomb shape in the middle of it.
the plane shapes above read "war for oil"

as for the huge burgundy blobs, they are a germanica type which i played around with trying to get kind of an arabic feel. i feel they may be a bit too heavy though..........

so a buddy of mine went to st. paul/mineapolis for the RNC.........

looks like he had a blast.........

inspiration

so last night i was walking over to the corner store 2 blocks up from my place. and some dude knocks on the window and flashes his wang at my friend and i. this dude apparently sat up in that window for the next 3 hours and creepily looked at everyone that walked by, im assuming he showed everyone else passin through his peeter as well. people like that guy inspire me, there is nothing more inspirational to me than some pervert showing me his cock and balls while im trying to walk to the store.
