beautiful losers poster

the first one is the one im going with. the bottom part of it is supposed to be a skateboard (the bottom of a skateboard) but its a little bit hard to make out cuz of all the texture shit i put on it. but the idea was to show the relationship of the artists featured in the movie to each other and today's mass media. i havent seen the movie, but i get a gist of the theme. the theme which is focusing on the street art (or alternative art) scene and its influence in the mass media. (corporations love to steal the ideas that we come up with and market them)
the skate culture and the urban art culture go hand in hand. they are all about using the environment around you to "make something from nothing". therefore both objects (the spray-can and the skateboard) are going into the city-scape which is a representation of those two sub-cultures influencing the masses. the power lines (they are kinda small) are representational of the culture spreading out to the masses beyond the city limits.....

yep......

the best one from the class, hands down! the only thing is that I wish I could see the skateboard a little bit more, other than that is the bomb!

yeah, i tried fiddling with it. i ended up drawing the skateboard spraycan design after i had done the shape with the buildings. and the way i layered it just made it too much of a pain in the ass to reveal more of it. oh well.
